Rita wants students to leave each lesson knowing how to begin at home. She chooses SYNKii Studio at £35 per month, billed monthly, to connect classroom work, lesson notes, assignments and practice.
Rita is a fictional teacher, not a customer testimonial. Studio includes the student management and administration in Starter, the classroom tools in Pro, and the lesson-to-practice features described below. Here is her complete week, starting with a new family.
Connect families → Schedule → Teach → Share notes → Set practice → Review progress → Invoice and record payment
Monday: welcome a student and connect their family
From her dashboard, Rita opens Students → Add student. For an adult learner, she uses their own email. For a child, she invites the guardian and checks the learner’s details before sending the invitation. She checks whether the invitation and any proposed agreement have been accepted rather than assuming the family is connected immediately.
She uses messaging to keep arrangements with the right family and checks the recipient before sharing a teaching file. Messages and file sharing give her a place to return to when a parent asks about a changed time.
Connect students and families.
Monday afternoon: agree the schedule and payment details
Rita chooses Schedule lesson from the dashboard, selects the learner, and enters the agreed date, start time and duration. She chooses In person for a studio visit or Online for a remote lesson. For weekly lessons, she checks the repeat pattern, time zone and schedule preview before confirming. She reopens the lesson to check what was created.
In Invoices → Billing settings, she checks her rate, currency, billing terms and payment instructions. She checks which agreement applies to the family: changing her default rate does not automatically replace their existing terms. She can teach before completing invoice setup, but applicable pricing and payment details must be ready before she prepares the bill.
Schedule lessons and set rates and payment details.
Tuesday: prepare the classroom for online or in-person teaching
Rita checks Today’s teaching, finds the scheduled lesson and chooses Enter classroom when available. For an online student, she checks the microphone, camera and connection before they begin. She opens the scheduled classroom for an in-person student too, so they can use its tools together on her studio device.
In Tools, she sets the metronome tempo and uses the chord identifier when useful. With compatible connected equipment, she can demonstrate using live MIDI. She checks the MIDI device and microphone separately and asks what the remote student can hear and see. When an example is finished, she stops playback and returns to the piece.
She opens Library inside the classroom, chooses a PDF or MusicXML piece, and checks that she shares it with the intended student. Separate audio or video files can be sent through messages. In SYNKii Lab | Theory & Aural, she chooses a relevant activity, adjusts its settings and tries it together with the learner. She can prepare from the dashboard before teaching; during the lesson, she uses these tools inside the scheduled classroom.
The music score editor is coming November 2026, so this routine does not depend on that upcoming feature.
Use classroom tools, explore Lab, Theory & Aural, and use the Library.
Before teaching: look at the student’s practice
Rita opens Students, selects the learner and chooses Practice. She opens a recent session and reads the activities and results. Where a digital exercise provides accuracy, she looks at that alongside the attempts and the student’s reflection.
One task looks too difficult, so she prepares a smaller exercise. Missing activity would not prove the student did no practice; she would ask about work away from SYNKii too. The goals canvas and learning progress help her connect individual tasks with a longer-term musical aim.
Follow the progress review guide.
During the lesson: teach, capture and check
Rita enters the scheduled classroom and explains how she intends to use AI notes. She chooses Start AI notes, follows the confirmation shown and checks the capture status. She names the piece and bar numbers when giving guidance, so the transcript has concrete context for a useful summary.
If she wants a lesson recording, she uses that separate control and explains it to the learner. Starting AI notes is not the same as starting a video recording. She checks the relevant status and any limits shown in her account instead of assuming capture is running.
Follow the AI lesson notes guide.
Before the student leaves: set a familiar task
Rita uses Theory & Aural to customise a digital exercise. She previews the questions, adjusts the difficulty and tries the first example with the student. Then she sets the assignment during the lesson, while they can still ask questions.
For a passage from a piece, she can set a manual assignment with the resource, bar numbers and a clear instruction. She checks that each task is assigned to the right learner; saving an exercise template or draft alone would not do that.
She also shows the learner where to open Practice Room in their own account and how to start a short session. Studio includes the student practice room, helping the student return to the work between lessons.
Set an assignment and introduce the Practice Room.
After teaching: approve what the student will read
In Lesson Notes, Rita selects the lesson and reads the AI draft when it is ready. She corrects musical terms and checks that the suggested next steps reflect the lesson. She uses Preview as student, then Share note when she is satisfied.
She can also write a note manually, recording what they covered and specific next steps. In either case, saving a draft and sharing the approved note are separate actions.
Review and share lesson notes.
Next week: use the evidence to prepare
Rita returns to the learner’s practice sessions before their next lesson. If the exercise has become comfortable, she increases the challenge gradually; if it remains difficult, she makes the next task smaller. She tries an example with the student before deciding what to assign next.
Friday: check lesson records and issue invoices
Rita reviews attendance, lesson history and reports. If a lesson moved or was cancelled, she checks the recorded outcome and the family’s agreed terms rather than assuming every scheduled lesson should be billed the same way. If she forgot to open a classroom, she records the past lesson and reviews its outcome.
She checks invoice setup, prepares a draft for the correct family, and reviews the lesson dates, charges, due date and payment instructions before using Review and issue. Billing runs alongside teaching: it does not require a transcript, AI note or completed practice task. Advance billing can include scheduled lessons where the agreed terms allow it.
Check invoice setup and issue an invoice.
When payment arrives: record what she received
The family pays Rita directly through her preferred payment method. After checking that the money has arrived in her own payment records, she opens the invoice and chooses Record payment. She enters the amount actually received, checks the remaining balance and acknowledges receipt to the family. A partial payment leaves a balance; a fully settled invoice is marked paid.
SYNKii records the payment; it has not collected the lesson fee for her. Her Studio subscription is separate from the fees families pay her.
Studio adds lesson recordings, AI lesson notes, theory and aural quizzes and games, digital and manual assignments, goals and learning progress, and the student practice room to Pro. Compare all three plans or explore the interactive teacher flow.
