Safeguarding
Safeguarding, child accounts and professional boundaries
SYNKii designs child accounts around guardian involvement, restricted discovery and relationship-based access. Teachers remain responsible for their professional safeguarding duties, while SYNKii is responsible for managing risks created by its own messaging, marketplace, recording and content features.

Immediate danger or a crime in progress: contact emergency services first. In the UK call 999 or 112. SYNKii is not an emergency service. After contacting the appropriate authority, report the concern to SYNKii so we can restrict accounts, preserve relevant platform records and support an investigation.
Report a safeguarding concern
You can report grooming, sexual content, coercion, threats, harassment, unsafe off-platform contact, impersonation, suspicious recordings, inappropriate teacher behaviour or any concern involving a child or vulnerable person.
Urgent safety concernContact SYNKii safety
Include the account or profile involved, dates, what happened, whether a child is at immediate risk and any message or lesson references. Do not send illegal sexual images of children.
Report urgent concern
Child-friendly routeTell a trusted adult
A child should tell a parent, guardian, teacher they trust or another safe adult. The adult can report to SYNKii. A child may also use the platform report button without explaining the concern to the person being reported.

Suspected online child sexual exploitation or grooming can also be reported to CEOP. Illegal content should be reported to the police or relevant authority as appropriate.

Child and teen account controls
Guardian activation
A teacher may send an invitation, but a child account is not activated until a parent, guardian or authorised organisation completes the required approval flow. The teacher cannot accept legal terms on the child’s behalf.
High privacy by default
Child accounts do not include billing, subscription controls, unrestricted marketplace browsing, public profile creation, legal settings, unrestricted data export or deletion controls, targeted advertising or public location sharing.
Guardian visibility
For under-18 learners, guardian visibility of teacher communications, relationship changes and recording permissions is the default. Any age-appropriate reduction in visibility must be deliberate, lawful and clearly explained.
Best interests first. Product design, privacy settings, prompts and defaults for child users must prioritise the child’s best interests and minimise unnecessary collection, sharing and persuasive design.

Guardian role
Online lessons
Use appropriate surroundings, professional conduct, secure links and only approved participants.
No covert participants, inappropriate backgrounds, sexualised conduct or unapproved private sessions with a child.
The guardian receives the schedule and information about how to join or observe where appropriate.
In-person lessons
Agree location, arrival, collection, supervision and emergency arrangements directly with the parent or adult student.
Home addresses must not be public profile data. A child must not arrange a private venue independently.
Guardian approves venue and collection arrangements for a child.
Recordings
Display a clear recording indicator, identify who started it, state the purpose and provide accessible controls.
No covert recording, hidden local capture, public posting or reuse outside the agreed teaching purpose.
Guardian permission is required where applicable for a child; settings allow recording to be disabled.
Off-platform contact
Only use another channel where there is a genuine lesson need and the parent or adult learner agrees.
No secret contact, disappearing messages, personal social-media solicitation or pressure to move off-platform.
Guardian remains included for child contact.
How SYNKii handles a safety report
1Triage
Identify immediate risk, the people affected, account access and whether emergency or specialist referral is needed.
2Protect
Temporarily restrict messaging, recording, profile visibility or account access where proportionate.
3Preserve
Secure relevant platform records and limit access. We do not ask users to circulate illegal child sexual abuse material.
4Investigate
Review available evidence, contact relevant users safely, document decisions and seek specialist or legal input where needed.
5Act and review
Warn, restrict, suspend, remove a listing, close an account, refer to authorities and explain available appeal routes where appropriate.
Confidentiality and fairness. SYNKii limits report details to people who need them for safety, investigation or law. We do not promise absolute confidentiality where disclosure is necessary to protect someone, comply with law or allow a fair response. Retaliation against a reporter is prohibited.
