Two inputs, seen from your screen
Your MIDIOther player’s MIDISofter → stronger key attack
- 01
Your input · Lime
Your own note messages appear as local input.
- 02
Peer input · Orange
The other participant’s note messages appear as remote input.
This script explains the keyboard display from the viewer’s perspective. It distinguishes MIDI velocity from measured audio volume.
Written walkthrough
Play a note locally, ask the other participant to play, then compare soft and firmer attacks. Observe the colour and intensity changes.
Recording script
Local note. “On this screen, my own input is lime.”
Peer note. “The other participant appears in orange. On their screen, their own playing is local.”
Velocity contrast. “A softer and firmer key attack sends different MIDI velocity values. The display makes that contrast visible.”
Musical phrase. “The visual information helps us compare attacks, but we still listen for the musical result.”
Capture notes
Label the perspective before switching screens. Do not caption the colours as fixed teacher and student identities. Avoid describing the gradient as a calibrated decibel meter.
End card: “Two participants. Visible note attacks. Listening still matters.”
