- 04
Next time
“I tried… I noticed… I need help with…”
Read this welcome pack together at a first lesson. It is written for the student and the adult supporting them.
Before your lesson
Open the invitation your teacher sent. If you are a child, ask the appropriate adult to complete the account steps. Check the next lesson’s date and time. Find the music your teacher has shared and tell them if you cannot open it.
You do not need your own paid SYNKii subscription to join your teacher. Your lesson fees are a separate arrangement with the teacher.
During your lesson
Bring one question and one example of what you tried. You might say, “I can play the first bar, but I stop when the melody changes direction.” Your teacher can help much more easily with a specific example.
Ask to hear the difference between the old attempt and the new idea. Before finishing, explain the practice task in your own words.
After your lesson
Find the teacher-approved notes and the work available in your account. Start with one short task. For example: count four beats, play the phrase once, then describe one thing you noticed.
If you use the Practice Room, choose a manageable session and review what you actually did. A difficult attempt is still useful information.
Bring back next time
“I tried ___, I noticed ___, and I would like help with ___.”
You can say this aloud; you do not need to write a long report. If access is confusing, ask your teacher. Tools shown in your account depend on their plan and your permissions.
