Observation → explanation → one action
- 01
Pinned observation
“The melody paused at the turn.”
- 02
Explain
The next note needs preparation without losing the beat.
- 03
Assign an action
Count bars 1–2, then play slowly through the join.
A pinned moment is most useful when it leads to an understandable next step. This script turns one observation into feedback.
Written walkthrough
Open a demo lesson’s pinned observation. Read the context and, if a recording exists, listen to the relevant moment. Write a short instruction that explains what the learner should try.
Recording script
Pinned observation. “Here I noted that the melody stopped at the turn. I am returning to the evidence before writing guidance.”
Relevant musical moment. “Listen to the pause between the two bars. The student needs a way to keep the beat moving.”
Write the task. “Count aloud through bars 1–2. Then play them slowly, keeping the same pulse through the join.”
Read the finished guidance. “This is more useful than ‘work on rhythm’ because it tells the learner where to begin.”
Capture notes
Only demonstrate playback if a matching recording exists. A pin does not guarantee a recording. Avoid promising automatic clip creation.
End card: “Observation → explanation → one action.”
