Illustrated explanation

Capture an observation, then interpret it

  1. 01

    Hear

The pulse stops before the turn.

  2. 02

    Capture

Note the event while the detail is fresh.

  3. 03

    Review later

“Count the join, then try both bars.”

An unpublished observation is not already student guidance.

The Lesson Feed can preserve a useful observation while the musical detail is fresh. Keep the entry specific enough to guide later review.

Written walkthrough

During a demo lesson, capture an observation in the Lesson Feed. Use the available note or pinned-moment controls. Later, return to that observation when reviewing the lesson record.

Recording script

Play a short passage. “Listen for the join into bar 2.”

Open the feed. “I have heard one useful detail: the pulse stops just before the turn.”

Capture the observation. “I write what happened, rather than a label such as ‘weak rhythm’.”

Show a pinned moment where available. “This point helps me return to the context. A pin is a reference, not an automatic assessment.”

Review after teaching. “Now I can turn the observation into guidance: count through the join, then try the two bars together.”

Capture notes

Use fictional lesson content. If a timestamp or recording is shown, verify that it leads to the moment described. Do not present an unpublished observation as already shared student guidance.

End card: “Capture evidence now. Review the guidance afterwards.”

Organise the teaching record.
